Hardin-Simmons Alumni Directory Project
It has been six years since Hardin-Simmons published its last Alumni Directory. We have entered into a project with Publishing Concepts (PCI) in an effort to update our alumni database and print the 2013 Alumni Directory.
We ask that all HSU alumni and exes contact the number you received via postcard and/or email to update your contact information for this project. We’ve assembled the data in our files and now we need you to confirm the accuracy of your data.
Correct information is critical to the success of the directory. Why is your verification so important? Up-to-date information is crucial for career placement, applying for grants, scholarship funding and national ranking evaluations.
Please give PCI a call so that they may verify your information. PCI is a trusted partner of Hardin-Simmons University. If you recently verified your alumni data, thank you for your prompt reply. We are planning to print the information currently on file unless we receive an update from you.

I received a postcard/phone call/email from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for Hardin-SImmons University. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?
Yes, it is legitimate and not a scam. The company we are working with to produce the new alumni directory is PCI: The Data Company (also known as Publishing Concepts) out of Dallas, TX. PCI is a company that creates and publishes alumni directories for educational institutions. The postcard, call or e-mail that you received was sent on our behalf.
How do I verify or update my information?
If you received an email or postcard requesting your information, please call the telephone number provided to speak with a representative who will walk you through the verification process. If you received an email with a personalized URL, you can visit the online site to check your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-395-4724.
Why is Hardin-Simmons using an outside contractor to complete this project?
HSU needs to use a professional company that has the manpower available to ensure that the directory is complete, accurate and finished on time.
What if I want to change the information I gave during my call?
You can call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-395-4724 and they will be able to assist you.
Who will be included in the directory?
The 2013 Alumni Directory will contain all living and deceased alumni and exes unless they specifically requested not be to published. If you are unsure you can call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-395-4724 and they will be able to assist you.
What happens if I don't call to update my information?
If you do not contact PCI to provide an update they will publish the known information Hardin-Simmons has on record.
Why does PCI have a different year listed as my graduation year than when I graduated?
PCi was given degree information (class year and degree) by Hardin-Simmons in accordance to the Registrar's records. If you feel that this is an error please let us know firstname.lastname@example.org or 325-670-1260 and we will confirm your degree information.
I call the phone number listed on my postcard/email but it is busy or I am put on hold.
Due to the high number of HSU alumni calling into the directory there are certain times of the day that the call center is busier. The average hold time for a HSU alumni si 40 seconds. Please be patient, they are taking to time to make sure other HSU alumni have their information updated correctly.
Peak call times are Monday mornings, all day Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The call center is available Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM, Sunday: 11:00 AM - 7:45 PM (CST)
Can anyone purchase a directory?
The Hardin-SImmons Alumni Directory is available for sale only to HSU alumni.
When will I receive my directory?
The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in June of 2012, the directories will be distributed in May- Juneof 2013.
I'm not sure that I want all of my information printed in the directory. Can I choose what is printed?
Absolutely. When you speak to the PCI representative to update or verify your information, you can tell him or her what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk or to the Alumni Association.
How do I know that my information will only be used for directory purposes?
Hardin-SImmons has made every effort contractually and through copyright laws to ensure the safety and confidentiality of information contained in the directory.
PCI is a trusted partner of Hardin-Simmons University. They have agreed to a written confidentiality clause in our contract which limits the use of the information contained in the directory to functions directly related to the preparation and promotion of the 2013 Alumni Directory. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to HSU all files that we have supplied to PCI as well as files that have been produced by PCI in connection with the 2013 Alumni Directory.
